Financial Aid
The NW
Institute of Esthetics and Permanent Cosmetics has multiple
ways to direct you for financial aid. Here are some of the
pathways that you may find helpful and we are happy to council you
as you work your way through the financial aid process.
Scholarships: If you are preparing for high school graduation
be sure to apply for scholarships: We are happy to accept your
scholarship funds large or small. Some students have funds
coming from multiple sources. Be sure to apply early if this is a
pathway you wish to follow. The funding classification is private
post-secondary career school.
Workforce: Sometimes
referred to as Worksource, the name varies from county to county.
Most often you will find them near the unemployment offices as their
job is to help people find careers that will earn them a living
wage. These funds are a grant, not a scholarship. We do
keep a listing in our offices for the different counties so be sure
to ask when you come in for your preliminary consultation.
Vocational Rehabilitation: NW Institute of Esthetics is on the
State of Oregon lists as well as with some private organizations as
an approved school for worker re-training. If we are not on
your specific list, we can work with the provider to take care of
this so you can qualify.
SallieMae: This is
a federal loan program for students and it has many options.
Payments can be scheduled to start right away, interest only paid or
the entire amount deferred until graduation. Your credit
score, co-signers, and terms all will affect your interest rates. On
line follow the links for "cosmetology schools" as this is the
category we fall under. While we may not show up on their lists we
have several students who have received funding. We can give you
more details during your consultation.
Chase: Sometimes called Manhattan Chase Bank
offers a diversity of loans to students, including those attending
technical schools. Their online website is very informational. Like
Sallie Mae funding can include tuition, school supplies and even
living expenses.
Private outside funding
We do have funds available through a private outside lender.
Interest rates depend on your credit status. Payments start 30
days after funding and the loan term is two (2) years.
Home equity loan. This is another
way that may be available to you if you own your home. In many cases
it has an attractive interest rate and repayment terms.
Family
funding. Many of our students receive funding through educational
savings accounts or from family members. Consider all your
resources.
Internal financing. To make payment of your tuition
easier, NW Institute does allow you to divide your tuition over the
course of your education with us. As long as payments are kept
current there is no interest assessed.
